Job Description:

This role requires a strong mix of technical skills to work on disruptive RF solutions developed with Menlo’s proprietary Ideal Switch technology, as well as interpersonal skills to work extensively with Sales and customers to support business growth. The ideal candidate will have experience with RF system architecture, design or test up to 20GHz and above. The Senior RF/Systems Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that assigned products and systems meets all technical requirements. They are responsible for integration, testing and delivery of the products and systems. The Senior RF/Systems Engineer will participate in the initial requirements analysis, design reviews and customer meetings.

Required Skills:

  1. Knowledge of RF theory and practice as well as 5G/LTE/VoLTE Technology.
  2. Knowledge of propagation modeling software such as Planet EV, Atoll, etc.
  3. Proficient in office computer applications: Various RF tools such as MapInfo, post-processing software, etc., MS office.
  4. Knowledge of SQL scripting, VB Scripting, other professional software.
  5. Analytic, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  6. Analytical Skills – The ability to collect information and identify fundamental patterns/trends in data. This includes the ability to gather, integrate, and interpret information from several sources.
  7. Communication – The ability to convey information clearly and accurately, as well as choosing the most effective method of delivery (e.g., email, phone, face-to-face). This includes using a technically sound communication style both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities:

  1. Search area issuance, candidate assessment, approvals, Macro / Smalls Designs and RF design support for bringing these solutions on-air.
  2. Redesign mature network areas to minimize capacity constraints and improve SINR while working with other areas of the network to ensure performance fixes/initiatives are in place.
  3. Use internal tools (FUZE, ATOLL) to process regulatory compliance.
  4. Perform Macro/Small Cell Design/In Building design including antenna selection and placement, utilizing knowledge of 5G, LTE, CDMA 1x, EVDO, and microwave to contribute in network design are key responsibilities.
  5. Work on new cell sites, making sure the site is properly integrated into the network and optimized for peak performance.
  6. Find and resolve system issues on the network by utilizing traditional and non-traditional means.
  7. Interact with cross-functional teams to deploy and optimize components for best efficiency and reliability.
  8. Provide subject matter expertise. Help train new team members and mentor current engineers.
  9. Participate in various trials for new technology, antennas, Radios, and tools.
  10. Leading large-scale Submarket wide projects for RF Design.
  11. Perform network node location evaluation and selection
  12. Perform Level 2 and Level 3 advanced troubleshooting to provide root cause guidance to junior engineers in RF, Backhaul and Core
  13. Perform Operation issue handling in 3g/4g/LTE/IMS/FTTX
  14. Create a macro and micro view of the network based on requirements
  15. Proactively participate in and influence the decision-making process in a management team environment

Qualification:

  1. A bachelor’s degree in Telecom/Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in RF system development for frequency up to 6GHz; higher frequency experience desired.
